Course Outline

The ATO has issued three different rulings on the GST treatment of appropriations. The appropriations regime contains a number of areas that cause problems for GST staff. This course provides you with an easy to understand, common sense approach to these payments and provides you with the skills required to identify the correct GST treatment. This is a very practical module in that it includes a number of examples which are worked through during the session.

This is an essential course for any person involved in paying or receiving funding from/to other government-related entities. This includes, for example, payments from Commonwealth and State Departments and agencies, local governments and other government entities.
